(S)he is Risen!

Happy Friday, everyone!  As you know, this weekend marks the annual celebration of very solemn and important holiday; a time to gather with friends and family and reflect on what it means to be an upright, moral person in this chaotic, modern world.  That's right, it's Sherri Shepherd's birthday.

And to commemorate the comedienne’s 44nd, we'd like to point you toward two of the best Celebrity Autobiographies ever, featuring Sherri reading books by Madonna, which she handles solo, and by Destiny's Child, in which she's joined by comedy superheroes Mario Cantone and Jackie Hoffman.

So don't forget to toast this legendary funnywoman the way God intended: by eating yourself stupid on Cadbury Creme eggs.

Illeana Douglas in Celebrity Autobiography

Illeana Douglas, creator and star of Easy To Assemble, will be reading for Celebrity Autobiography in Los Angeles, California on 2/20 and in Green Bay, Wisconsin on 3/12.  Two giants of My Damn Channel aligning their forces together!

So if you're from either of those areas - or want to travel thousands of miles cuz it'll be worth it - get your tickets here.

Escape From New York

It has been so hot in New York we've been melting.  So we decided to hit the road and get outta dodge.  (Yes, that is redundant, but we don't care.)

First we went to New Orleans to see the Celebrity Autobiography LIVE benefit for the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund.  Creators Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel brought out the big guns with Ryan Reynolds, John Goodman, Jennifer Coolidge, Mario Cantone, Bryan Batt and more, raising over $10,000!!!  Check out this clip from the local NOLA morning show:

Now we're in Los Angeles, hanging out at the IKEA in Burbank with Illeana Douglas and crew filming the new season of Easy To Assemble: Finding North!!!

Tomorrow, we're shooting some exclusive Childrens Hospital goodness for you!  You did watch the premiere on Adult Swim last night, didn't you?  Clowns don't like it when you break promises to them.

Saturday, we're covering The Concert of Colors in Detroit with our main man, Don Was.  For ticket and scheduling info, visit their website: www.ConcertOfColors.com

We're racking up frequent flier miles like we're George Clooney's character in that movie Up In The Air from last Christmas that we've already forgotten.  Where will we be next and can you come out and say "hi?"  Make sure you're following us on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook for all of the latest updates.  Come on.  What else are you going to do now that The World Cup is over?

We Finally Got a Piece of the Pie

We have been making friends on Twitter, and one of our fans sent us a PIE!  @jetemple said we were his 100th follower on Twitter, and we asked if we won something (because, hey, why not, right?) and he sent us a pie, god bless him.

Here is @jetemple getting ready to send us our pie:

Amazing, right?  Sigh.  Our fans are the best.  We love our fans.  We've been watching the World Cup together, we've been trying to Cheer Up Keanu Reeves together, we've been watching Celebrity Autobiography together...so, yeah, we're pretty tight with our fans.

We're hoping to hang with some fans at the BANFF conference, where fearless leader/founder/CEO Rob Barnett is on a panel, and Illeana Douglas is receiving an award.

We're hoping to hang with some fans at some of the Celebrity Autobiography LIVE events.

We're hoping to hang with some fans at the Just For Laughs Festival in Chicago, with Wainy Days stars David Wain and Rob Corddry.

Finally, we're hoping to hang with some fans in a luxury box at the New York Mets' Citifield stadium.  (Hey, we asked for a pie once, right?  Figured it was worth a shot.)

New Celebrity Autobiography!

Last week we tried to ride in the wake of MacGruber's publicity wave and this week it's Sex and the City 2.  We put THOUGHT into these things, people!  SATC2 (do not judge us because we are down with the acronym) and The View favorite Mario Cantone reads Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean's autobiography, Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks.  Yes.  Political attacks.  Sigh.

But she is pretty.  So there's that.

MacGruber Is Our Homeboy

Ugh.  So much happened this week and we are exhausted.   We launched Celebrity Autobiography with Will Forte, Kristen Wiig and Eugene Pack.  Then, you know how when you're thinking about something you suddenly see it everywhere?  Well, we saw Will Forte on tv, like, a million times this week and he has seeped into our subconsciousness. We think he might actually be our new best friend.  It's bad.  Message to movie marketers: you win.  It worked.  All we can think about is going to see MacGruber this weekend.

Justin and Alden interviewed all those people and that made us tired.  Grace went to that H&M thing and she was tired. Our office is moving, and everyone knows moving sucks, so everyone in the office is tired.   We're Twittering and Tumblring and Tired.  Are you there, god?  It's me, My Damn Channel.  We need a weekend, bad.

Name-Dropping Like It's Hot

At My Damn Channel, we like celebrities and we like hilarious things.

And then we realized... there are CELEBRITIES who like celebrities and hilarious things.  If we could get celebrities like MacGruber and SNL stars Will Forte and Kristen Wiig to read, say, the ridiculous AUTOBIOGRAPHIES of celebrities like Tommy Lee and Tiger Woods, it would probably be AWESOME.

Then we met a man named Eugene Pack and he made all of our celebrity dreams come true.

Witness the celebrity trailer now.

And we were right.  It is celebrity awesome and celebrity hilarious.  New celebrity episodes will be on My Damn Channel every Wednesday beginning May 19th.

Thank you.  You're welcome.  Celebrity.
