There's a weird thread that runs through the Catholic Church sex scandal. Yes, it's priests and young boys, but in Italy, and England, and Milwaukee, it's deaf boys. In the case of Father Murphy in Milwaukee, it was 200 deaf boys.

In "Deaf Boys," Harry Shearer sees the world from Father Murphy's point of view. And it's not pretty.

By artistsme on October 18, 2010, at 9:40PM PST I was just thinking today... if there is a god, and he did in fact design the entire universe, why did he design death and the ability to die?  He could have made it so humans don't die once born.  Seems ridiculous to worship a god that designed us to die.  If you were to design the entire universe, would you make little creatures with the built-in function of dying?  What's the point of that.

By CWchick on June 7, 2010, at 1:32PM PST Thank you so much for this, Harry.  Your satire is on point once again.  This whole scandal has made me sick.  It was too hard to remove and ex-communicate priests whom everyone knew were up to no good?  And the Catholic Church wonders why it can't find any more young people to shore up its ranks.  Because you let them be abused for so many years!!! /end rant.
