Stephen Bruton is a great musician, writer & producer. He's toured with Kris Kristofferson, Bonnie Raitt and Christine McVie...his songs have been covered by Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Little Feat, Martina McBride and Waylon Jennings... He's produced acclaimed albums for Hal Ketchum, Alejandro Escovedo and Chris Smither... he's released five great solo albums - the most recent being "From The Five" on New West Records.

I love this groove driven version of "Waiting For A Long Time" - a Bruton original that was a hit single for the Highwaymen (Cash, Waylon,Willie & Kris).

By gsoz on August 19, 2008, at 9:20AM PST Thanks, Don, for giving one of my heroes his due. The album that these two tracks came from, "What It Is" on Dos Records, is one of my 'deserted island' discs. On top of that, he is just a genuinely nice guy.

By adamsieff on December 27, 2007, at 2:55AM PST I saw him play live in London during the mid-nineties. He is a truly great talent and  deserves a much bigger audience - hopefully this excellent platform will help make a real difference.
